We tried a unique concept of BRM where a cyclist could cover 250 Kms in 2 days via BRM. Such BRM are done by all Audax clubs across India. Nashik Randonneurs cycled 1500 Kms BRM from Nashik to Amritsar in 5 days. Navi Mumbai Kalyan Cyclists Audax club have their annual tradition of one way 200 Kms BRM ride to Dapoli.
Our ideas was to cycle 150 Kms BRM on Day 1 from Borivali to Kamshet covering the mighty Bhor ghat. Stay overnight at a Lakeside bungalow and cycle 100 Kms BRM on Day 2 in and around the hills of Kamshet. We had 20 cyclists on Day 1 and 35 cyclists on Day 2 with few cyclists directly coming for the 100 Kms hilly route from Mumbai and Pune.
Day 1
20 Cyclists kicked off from Borivali with control point at Mcdonald’s Kalamboli handled by Navi Mumbai Kalyan Cyclists Audax club. The second control was at Kamat Hotel Lonavala and final control at the end point i.e. Kamshet.
Day 2
35 Cyclists kicked off from Kamshet with control point exploring the hilly section. All cyclists returned via BUS. The route was quite scenic. Finishers medals to 150 Kms and 100 Kms were given at the end point.
